Grant Writer Responsibilities:

The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching, writing and coordinating the grant application process; management of proposals and maintaining a donor database. The Grant Writer duties will include, but are not limited to, writing high-quality grant proposal narratives, applications and supporting documents.

Responsible for researching, collecting data and writing of each grant· Work with department managers to compile financials and data· Manage the proposal submission process to ensure timely submission of all required materials.

Develops and maintains a proposal calendar, Coordinate and follow-ups on the progress of submitted proposals· Develops an annual grants strategy· Conduct prospect research to identify, cultivate and solicit new grants· Perform other related duties as assigned·

The Grant Writer is a full time position reporting directly to the President of the UDAAN Society.

S/He will be a part of the fund raising team.

Qualifications & Experience:

Post Graduate degree educated MSW/MBA or journalistic / professional writing background.

Key skills of a Grant Writer will be:

  • A minimum of two-three years work experience: Writing proposals in response to RFPs and research. Demonstrated ability to write successful grant proposals. Experience in editing professional and business writing. Exceptional writing and editing skills. Strong organizational skills that demonstrates a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Ability to work collegiality under strict deadline pressure and handle multiple work assignments. Some broader communications experience/knowledge beyond proposal writing is desired. Ability to learn quickly, demonstrate critical thinking and make situation appropriate decisions using sound judgment. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. Experience of working in a high-paced environment and Time management and organizational skills.

High proficiency in all areas of Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
