With more than a third of its population below the age of 18, India has the largest child population in the world. This population needs psychological, social and humanistic approach so that issues pertaining to them can be resolved. Government of India through its efforts has made significant contribution in the child survival, child literacy, infant mortality and there is significant reduction in school dropouts.
But there are other important issues which needs urgent attention. The issues of child rights in India is still caught between legal and policy commitments. Also, in absence of proper institutional care and support system for children, there are unattended it is the prime responsibility of the citizen and NGOs working in India to design, develop and work for the overall development of their future citizens.
Child Development is among the prime focus area of UDAAN Society since its inception. We believe that it is upon the shoulders of a child, the nation finds the path for development. If we would like to develop the whole country the children should be cared and developed first.
